We are currently seeking a talented freelance hand illustrator to collaborate with us on creating original illustrations inspired by the Pichwai art form for our new wallpaper collection.

Theme: Pichwai Art

Pichwai is a traditional Indian art form that originated over 400 years ago in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. It is renowned for its intricate and detailed paintings, primarily depicting the life of Lord Krishna, especially his childhood and connection with cows, lotuses, and gopis. Pichwai art is characterised by its vibrant colours, ornate details, and strong use of motifs inspired by temple traditions, particularly focusing on devotional scenes.

Requirements:

• Strong portfolio showcasing hand-drawn illustrations, preferably with experience in traditional Indian art forms.
• Familiarity with Pichwai art or similar traditional styles will be a significant advantage.
• Ability to create intricate, detailed designs that reflect both traditional and contemporary sensibilities.
• Experience in creating designs for large-scale formats such as wallpaper is preferred.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
• Create original hand illustrations based on Pichwai themes, incorporating the traditional motifs and elements.
• Work closely with the Takshnam team to ensure that the artwork aligns with the brand's vision and product requirements.
• Ensure that the illustrations are scalable and adaptable to various formats (wallpaper, textile, décor)
• A knowledge of digital drawing in Illustrator, Procreate is a plus.
