Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Administrative Support professional to join the team at a secondary school in Islington. The successful candidate must have experience working in a secondary school environment, be proficient in using SIMS (School Information Management System), and have experience preparing reports for exclusions. This role plays a key part in supporting the administrative processes within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s SIMS database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records for students, staff, and attendance.
  • Prepare and compile reports related to student exclusions, ensuring all necessary information is accurately documented and shared with relevant staff and external agencies.
  • Provide administrative support, including preparing reports, documents, and data entry using SIMS.
  • Assist with general office tasks such as managing student records, admissions, and filing.
  • Monitor and update pupil attendance records, generating attendance reports and following up on absences.
  • Coordinate meetings and school events, maintaining school calendars and schedules.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, handling email correspondence, and greeting visitors.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the leadership team to ensure the smooth operation of the school, particularly in relation to reporting on exclusions.
  • Assist in school events such as parents' evenings and open days.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting is essential.
  • Proficient in using SIMS (School Information Management System).
  • Experience in preparing reports related to student exclusions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing records and data.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.

Desirable:

  • Experience managing school attendance and admissions procedures.
  • Knowledge of school safeguarding policies.
