About the job

We are looking for freelance ESOL Tutors to teach adult learners in Cheshire East (Crewe and Macclesfield). The role is ideal for Tutors who are eager to work with motivated adult learners from all over the world, who now live in Cheshire.

What we offer:

· Teaching start date 6th January 2025 (training/induction day prior)

· Gross pay for this role is £30 p/h for teaching, plus £30 p/h preparation time (30 minutes prep for every 1.5 hours contact time)

· Freelance requires you to pay your own tax and national Insurance

· Up to 20 hours per week

· Contact/teaching time is during the day

· Face to face / in person classes (offline)

· Regular CPD opportunities

· Friendly and supportive environment

ESOL Tutor responsibilities:

· Planning lessons during paid preparation time

· Monitoring and recording learner progress

· Attending tutor meetings and CPD sessions

· Submitting exam entries, administering and marking exams

· Reporting safeguarding concerns

· Completing relevant paperwork to fulfil funding requirements

ESOL Tutor requirements:

Essential:

· Teaching qualifications: Cambridge CELTA or equivalent pass

· Ability to use MS WORD

· Own laptop and ability to travel to teaching locations

· Ability to work well with a team

· Enhanced level DBS

Preferred:

· Experience of teaching English

· Experience of teaching ESOL

· Knowledge of Ascentis exams

· Cambridge RSA DELTA or PGCE

· Understanding of Ofsted inspection requirements for teaching
