We are currently seeking an experienced finance professional to join our Group Education Team in the capacity of Accountant.

Overview Of The Role

To support the company’s balance sheet by ensuring thorough review of every balance sheet GL account and testing it through a substantiation process. Ensure accurate, reliable, and timely book closure every month.

What You Will Do

Budgeting and Monitoring
 

• Assist in the budget preparation, budget forecasts, and closure of accounts processes.
   

Financial Transactions

• Ensure checks and balances by verifying receipts with actual bank deposits.
• Assist with accounts receivable and fee follow up.
• Track and facilitate professional development and housing & other payments to staff.
• Maintain oversight of school bank reconciliations and cash flow and ensuring monthly reconciliations are carried out.
• Utility Bills payment process
   

Vendor Management & Invoice Process

• Management of the accounts payable
• Vendor reconciliations
• Verification of purchase orders
   

Payroll

• Regular payroll and budget monitoring, financial control
• Payroll preparation and final settlements for the separating employees
   

Compliances

• Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
• Financial Bookkeeping of Records and files
   

Other Responsibilities

• Assist day to day accounting functions at school as required.
   

Required Skills To Be Successful

• Good knowledge of accounting practices in compliance with IFRS/IAS
• Analytical, process oriented
• Well organized, with excellent communication skills, a team player
• Should possess a good knowledge of excel and have prior experience in working with large databases.
• (Preferably SAP) and BPC
• Math skills
• Advanced ERP & Excel Exposure, Knowledge of IFRS
• Knowledge of Accounting principle
• Multitasking
• Prioritizing
• Organizational skills
• Audit Experience
• UAE VAT knowledge
   

What Equips You For The Role

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy
• 3-year experience as Accountant preferably in a school setup
