Department: Workshop Operations
Location: UAE
Reports To: Workshop Foreman
 

Job Purpose

The Mechanic is responsible for skilled tasks in servicing, repairing, and maintaining various city equipment and vehicles. This role involves work planning, task assignment, and ensuring task completion. The Mechanic also maintains records, prepares reports, and supervises fleet personnel as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

1. Health and Safety

• Act as a role model to promote a culture of safety and comply with Group standards.
• Encourage Health & Safety through regular meetings and initiatives.
• Submit Near Miss and VPC reports in the iCare system.
• Adhere to PPE and SOP requirements on/off site.
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare necessary permits for tasks.

2. Environmental Management

• Ensure awareness of and compliance with environmental regulations.
• Report any incidents of non-compliance or environmental issues.

3. Quality Assurance

• Support the company’s quality programs and represent RMG professionally.
• Maintain a well-organized and clean work environment.
• Complete Job Safety Analyses before tasks and adhere to safety policies.

4. Workshop Operations

• Conduct maintenance and repairs on vehicles/generators as directed.
• Report job progress, completion, and any health and safety incidents to the Workshop Foreman.
• Respond to routine and emergency repair/service calls.

5. Logistics

• Keep accurate records of equipment issues and maintenance logs.

6. Interaction and Team Collaboration

• Coordinate with in-house departments and liaise with external service providers.
• Contribute constructively to planning and improvement initiatives.

7. Internal Controls

• Assist in internal control topics and follow the Code of Business Conduct.

8. Legal and Ethical Compliance

• Maintain awareness of competition law and company’s Conflict of Interest and Anti-Bribery policies.

General Duties

• Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Workshop Foreman or Maintenance Manager.

Working Relationships

• Internal: Workshop and Production Departments
• External: Service Providers

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Diploma/Certificate in a relevant field.
• Experience: 2-3 years of workshop management experience, ideally in the UAE, with knowledge of RMX Workshop operations.
• License: UAE Driver’s License (preferred).

Skills and Competencies

• Results-oriented, organized, and self-managing.
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic or Hindi is an advantage.
• Collaborative and able to work in a multicultural team.
• Strong time management, listening, and problem-solving skills.
