Position Overview

The Hospice Billing Specialist is responsible for managing the billing processes for hospice services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance providers, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the billing process for hospice services, including the submission of claims to various insurance providers.
  • Review and verify patient insurance information and ensure proper coding for all services rendered.
  • Monitor and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely payment from insurance companies.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in Medicaid and Medicare regulations affecting hospice billing.
  • Prepare and submit professional claims accurately and within deadlines.
     

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in hospice billing and claims submission.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid billing regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in billing software and electronic health record systems.
