We are in search of an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee all HR activities in a manufacturing plant. This is a contract position. The successful candidate must have broad knowledge of human resources, and the ability to work in a unionized environment serving approximately 400 employees.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
• Oversee all industrial relations issues within a unionized environment, including processing grievances, negotiations and ensuring adherence to collective agreements.
• Manage the recruitment and selection process.
• Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
• Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures.
• Nurture a positive working environment.
• Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
• Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
• Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
• Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
   

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management / Business Administration or relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in Human Resource Management. Experience with unionized manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases.
• Ability to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
• Competence to build and effectively manage a robust HR team.
• In-depth understanding of labor laws and disciplinary procedures.
• Strong leadership skills and excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
