Urgent Vacancy for Accountant in Abu Dhabi

Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. The role includes maintaining the general ledger, reconciling account balances and bank statements, and preparing month-end close procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analysing account information.
• Maintain general ledger accounts by preparing trial balances, reconciling entries, and preparing balance sheets and income statements.
• Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
• Handle all cash, bank, and petty cash transactions.
• Prepare bank reconciliation and maintain petty cash records.
• Support month-end and year-end book closing processes.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cash forecasts.
• Record and monitor fixed asset transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns for submission to the tax authority.
• Liaise with external auditors, addressing all audit-related queries and requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (auditors, banks, vendors, etc.) and establish strong working relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CA/CPA/CMA qualification is a must.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics AX, SAP, or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software, preferably AX Dynamics.
• Strong understanding of current IFRS standards and VAT/Corporate Tax laws.
• Knowledge of private equity and private equity funds is an advantage.
• Strong organizational, time management, and reporting skills.
