Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Waiter/ess to join the team of The Duck Hook. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
 

• Greet guests with warm welcome and smile. Escort them to their tables. Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu.
• Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable.
• Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired.
• Inform guests of daily specials or special items/promotions not listed on menu.
• Deliver and serve food at tables. Use established food handling and serving techniques as per Jumeirah standard.
• Maintain the table setting by clearing courses as completed, cleaning and maintaining server stations, replacing utensils, refreshing water glasses, dealing with spills, moving dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning.
• Ensure that high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed.
• Ensure the guests of the outlet experience an enjoyable and memorable by following the outlet sequence of service.
• Handle guests' inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to the Team Leaders if no immediate solution can be found.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions enabling delivery of luxurious service to guests and in line with Jumeirah standard of excellence.

About You:
 

• At least 1 year of experience as a waiter/waitress in a renowned hospitality brand or a standalone restaurant.
• Proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented by proficiency with a second language (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, Greek) with strong communication abilities.
• Desirable working practical knowledge with Opera, Epicure, or Micros.
