Job Description
The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Ø Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, invoices, and payables/entitlements.
Ø Review financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with approved regulations and policies.
Ø Prepare periodic financial reports (monthly/quarterly/annually).
Ø Monitor accounts receivable and payable, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
Ø Conduct periodic asset inventories and ensure consistency with actual records.
Ø Assist in preparing the annual budget, balance sheet, and financial reports required by senior management.
Ø Liaise with external auditors and provide all required documentation.
Ø Use digital accounting systems to record and track financial data.
Ø Ensure compliance with applicable taxation and social insurance laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Academic Qualifications:
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
Ø Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
Ø Experience in the government or semi-government sector is preferred
Skills and Competencies:
Ø In-depth understanding of International Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations
Ø Proficiency in accounting software, especially Government Resource Planning (GRP) system.
Ø Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
Ø Ability to prepare accurate and timely financial reports.
Ø Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
