The Charge Nurse-OPD is responsible in Assessment, Management and Provision of Quality Nursing Care to all patients. An active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborates in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care or critical pathway.
The Charge Nurse-OPD Responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic. Provides support to the staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity. Works, in cooperation with medical providers to ensure the quality of patient care.
Offer guidance, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and ensure that all operational tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Job Description:
Record patients’ medical records and monitor vital signs.
Supervising nursing staff and monitoring their needs.
Coordinating daily administrative duties, including schedules, nursing assignments, and patient care.
Overseeing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Mentoring and training new staff and providing support and guidance to all staff members.
Monitoring medical charts and providing compassionate care and assistance to patients and families.
Liaising with doctors and administrators and communicating any protocol changes to staff.
Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Recording and maintaining accurate reports.
Identifying issues or emergencies and responding in a calm and efficient manner.
Ensure that the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care is delivered to all patients and their families.
Act as patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality are met.
Report any issues that are identified by patients or their relatives on a timely basis.
Observe and abide by the Rules and Code of conduct of Fakeeh University Hospital.
Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels in the unit.
Ensure that all provision of nursing care is documented on a timely basis and accurately reflects the patient experience
Ensure that individual consultant care protocols are followed.
Ensure a high standard of infection control and the prevention of all avoidable healthcare associated infections.
Administer all drugs and medications as per the local policies and procedures.
Report to the nurse manager any nursing issues of significance or concern.
Ensure that all policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions that relate to nursing are followed.
Maintain effective working relationships and communication with all hospital staff and consultants.
Maintain an appropriate standard of confidentiality.
Provides formal and informal education to staff within the clinical area and lead the process of reflective practice
Education:
Bachelor's in Nursing
Job Specifications:
Minimum 3- 5 year experience in Outpatient setting as a Charge Nurse managing mainly Pediatric and OBGYN Clinic.
Certifications & License (as needed):
DHA License or DHA Eligibility
